      Kevan Collins, who runs Tower Hamlets Council, goes on an undercover mission to find out what impact government cuts are really going to have.

      Knowing he has huge spending cuts to make - £50 million over the next three years - Kevan concludes that the best way to decide on his priorities is to go incognito and join staff on the front line as a new trainee. His tasks include delivering meals to the old, pitching in at the homeless office, taking to the streets with the police and working alongside pest controllers. At the end of it all, Kevan will have some tough decisions to make - and will also reveal this identity to his co-workers.

      Gaby learns the identity of her mysterious stalker, with rather unfortunate consequences. Lynette and Tom try to put the spark back into their marriage by spending a few days alone at a B&B, where they make some new friends but fail in their primary objective. Placed under arrest for poisoning Paul, Susan is convinced that she has been framed by Felicia, but getting the police to come to the same conclusion may prove more difficult.

      Alex visits the Sandygate Hotel in South Yorkshire, which is run by a chef with an Elvis fixation. Despite showing promise, a lack of marketing savvy and sloppy pricing have left the hotel in peril. Will Alex manage to get the hostelry back on its feet again?

      The acclaimed documentary series providing a unique insight into the lives of young people in the UK returns for a new series.

      This opening installment follows six budding entrepreneurs from a London estate, who have a unique business idea. They plan to grow herbs and vegetables in disused skips around the King's Cross area and sell them to local businesses. The only problem is that they don't have a business plan, don't know who they are going to sell to, and only have a six-week break from school in which to make a success of the venture. With the odds against them, will the skip plants make a profit?

    • Wildlife Patrol

      This six-part documentary series follows the National Wildlife Crime Unit, whose officers fight against the illegal wildlife trade.

      Wildlife crime is on the rise and becoming ever more lucrative. For the officers, scaling a sheer rock face in the Scottish Highlands, breaking down the door of an illegal ivory trader in Liverpool and even prising open a container full of snakes at Heathrow airport can all be part of a day's work. In this episode, officers investigate suspected illegal taxidermists and a large shipment of tortoises at Heathrow. Meanwhile, a group of suspected deer coursers are arrested in Lincolnshire.

      A new term brings new problems as the drama, set in the sort of school that regularly attracts adverse reports from government inspectors, returns.

      Sian is standing in for Michael as head teacher, the latter having suffered the misfortune of being the victim of a hit-and-run incident. Her troubles start when the school is infiltrated by a local gang, the DSC. Tariq is trying to turn over a new leaf, but Mason, a new pupil fresh out of youth detention centre, demands that he join the gang. Meanwhile, Grantly commits a cardinal sin by falling out with the dinner lady.

      The latest episode in the series that sees fathers sent on crash courses in childcare by their long-suffering partners.

      The dads spend a week working at north west London nursery Carlton Hill. Grant's wife Lorna wants him to connect with his daughters rather than shouting at them, but he gets a dressing down from the manager Marion after losing his patience with kids at the nursery. Windscreen fitter and dad-of-three Paul has never changed a nappy and wants to prove that childcare is easy 'women's work', while his partner Sally would love him to understand how difficult it is.

      The cooking contest heats up as John Torode and Gregg Wallace lead the contestants in their first foray into fine dining in large numbers.

      The amateur chefs have to prepare a delectable three-course meal for over 200 guests at Middle Temple, one of the historical Inns of Court at the heart of the British legal system. Working under the head chef, the contestants must cook in pairs, with each team delivering one course. Then, the contestants return to the MasterChef kitchen for one more fine-dining challenge. They have 90 minutes to create two elegant courses that can proudly sit on any fine-dining menu.

      Slapstick comedy starring Matt Dillon, Cameron Diaz and Ben Stiller.

      A man (Stiller) is tormented by memories of an accident with his zipper which caused him to miss a dream prom-date with an exquisite girl (Diaz). Convinced that he missed out on his only chance for love, he hires a private detective (a scene-stealing Dillon) to locate the girl in the hope of winning a second chance. However, the detective is charmed by her and soon proves to be a ruthless and unscrupulous rival in love.

      Hopes and fears about delivering babies provide the theme to tonight's episode of the observational documentary series set in a busy maternity ward.

      Sarah Sanderson's pregnancy has been understandably stressful. The last time she was pregnant, she delivered a stillborn baby at 22 weeks and was told that she would never be able to carry a child to full term. At the hospital, midwives discover her baby is lying sideways, which can create problems. Elsewhere, Natalie and her husband Anthony run a hair salon together. Natalie has no fears about childbirth, but her mother Brenda is concerned because she once had a stillborn child herself.

      The series returns in which millionaire benefactors say goodbye to their luxury lifestyles and go undercover in deprived areas.

      Sean Gallagher made his fortune through his IT recruitment agency. He loves spoiling himself and his two nieces, but his closeness to them stems from a family tragedy. Their mother, Sean's only sibling, died 25 years ago from an epileptic seizure. His search for people to help leads him to the Middlesbrough-based charity Abbie's Love, founded by Richard and Tracy who lost their own daughter Abbie to epilepsy. Sean throws himself into their fundraising efforts to buy epilepsy bed alarms.

      Dawn French and Alfred Molina portray the titular couple in this minutely observed sitcom, which this week sees the arrival of a significant e-mail.

      Penned by twin sisters Beth and Emma Kilcoyne and unfolding in real time, the comedy follows husband and wife Roger and Val as they arrive home and dissect the day's events. Following the discovery of an e-mail from afar, a shocking confession is made that could dramatically change the couple's lives. Roger, meanwhile, receives his verdict, and during a seafood meal, he and Val discover that geography has an effect on manners.

And what kind of outrageous transformation will Jimmy be undergoing for his latest satirical sketch?

Each week team captains Micky Flanagan and Mark Watson are quizzed about classic ads from the past, present and overseas. Kicking off the first show the ads are themed around confectionary and Micky and Mark are joined by comedians Holly Walsh and Joe Wilkinson.

Dominic also has his own family crisis when Tess leaves home, but he has little time to put things right. Willard will only deal with Dominic, so he decides to go it alone in an attempt to get Sally back. But can he get hold of what they are demanding, and who is Willard working with?

      Each week, a series of lovelorn guys give it their all as they attempt to impress Paddy's 30 single ladies. The boys descend in the show's love lift and show off their personality, quirks and skills to the girls. The women each have a light which they can turn off if they do not fancy a particular chap. Once couples are paired off, they are sent to enjoy a romantic date on the sun-kissed Isle of Fernandos. Will anyone make a love connection this week?

      Investigating Africa's hidden history. This time, a look at the lost kingdoms of Bunyoro and Buganda, who once contested the land now known as Uganda.

      Dr Gus Casely-Hayford's mission to reveal the lost history of Africa's distant past takes him to Uganda, where he explores the rise and fall of two great kingdoms. For centuries the land of Bunyoro was unopposed in the region until a collection of cultivators on the shores of Lake Victoria established the kingdom of Buganda. The rapid rise of this new kingdom dramatically challenged Bunyoro's dominance -a competition that was further complicated by the arrival of the first Europeans.

Also the amazing Mr John Barrowman drops by to sing a duet - sort of.
